Warrant and RMA

Warranty Terms & Coverage
Purpose
To protect buyers from Dead-On-Arrival (DOA) and factory defects while clearly excluding damage caused by misuse, improper installation, unauthorized modification, or transport/handling by the buyer.
1. What this warranty is
This is a limited vendor warranty from Uncapped PC for qualifying hardware sold through our store. It guarantees products are free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for the warranty period stated at point of sale.
2. What we cover
We will repair, replace, or refund (at our discretion) when all of the following are true:
-
The product exhibits a reproducible hardware failure on our bench using known-good components (PSU, CPU, RAM, GPU where applicable).
-
No visible customer-caused physical damage, tampering, or unauthorized modification is present.
-
The serial number/model matches our order records and purchase is within the stated warranty period.
3. Common exclusions (what we do NOT cover) — examples & rationale
-
Physical damage — bent CPU socket pins, cracked or broken PCB, crushed capacitors, scorch/burn marks.
-
Liquid or corrosion damage — spills, moisture, insect-related corrosion.
-
Electrical overstress & shorts caused by improper assembly — missing/extra standoffs, improper screws, loose metallic debris shorting traces, or user wiring errors.
-
Tampering or unauthorized repairs/modifications — BIOS chips, soldering, non-OEM parts or third-party repair that introduces damage (manufacturers generally won’t cover damage caused by third-party repairs).
-
Cosmetic or incidental damage — scratches, scuffs, sticker removal (unless it masks other damage and per our policy).
-
Overclocking / unsupported configurations — failures attributable to overclocking, voltage mods, or operating outside vendor specs.
-
Software / OS / driver issues — not covered unless we prove hardware fault is the cause.
-
Transport/packaging choices by buyer — if buyer ships without following our packing/shipping instructions and damage occurs in transit, warranty may be denied.
-
No proof of purchase / out of warranty — proof of purchase is required; some vendors also require reporting DOA within a short window.
-
Third-party components & external-cause exclusion — Uncapped PC is not liable for damage caused by third-party components, user-supplied accessories, installation/site conditions, or other external events. This includes (but is not limited to) power supplies, surge protectors, UPS units, incorrect cabling/adapters, improper grounding, non-OEM coolers/backplates, incorrect standoffs or screws, faulty peripherals, unstable mains voltage, lightning/surge events, or other items or conditions outside our manufacturing and testing control.
If inspection or bench testing (including continuity checks and cross-swap isolation) shows the root cause is an external item or installation/site condition, the affected damage is excluded from warranty coverage. In such cases we will document findings, provide photos and the diagnostic log, and offer a paid repair or replacement estimate.
Customer obligations: If you claim an external item (for example, a PSU, surge protector, or UPS) caused the failure, you must preserve and submit the suspected item (or provide clear dated photos of it and its label) and include details about the installation/site conditions (cabling, surge/UPS usage, circuit information). Disposing the suspected item before inspection may limit our ability to investigate and may result in denial of warranty. -
Receipt / packing-slip one-liner — Damage caused by third-party components, improper installation, or external electrical/site events (e.g., PSUs, surge/UPS faults, incorrect wiring, grounding issues) is excluded from this warranty.
4. Evidence required before we issue an RMA label (buyer must submit these first)
To speed up legitimate claims and reduce abusive RMAs, please send the following before we issue an RMA label:
Required from buyer (submit before we generate return label):
-
Clear photos of the product (front and back), including close-ups of the items.
-
A short video (30–60 seconds) on your bench showing the failed behavior: power attempt, lights, fans (or lack), any LED Q-codes or beep codes. (If an item appears to POST intermittently, show that.)
-
Photo of the original packaging and any loose screws if you claim shipping damage. (If you suspect transport damage, show how the box looked on arrival.)
-
Product serial number and model printed on the board, and proof of purchase (order number and date).
-
A short checklist of troubleshooting already performed — a simple checkbox form the buyer completes (example items below).
Why: these items are primary evidence that let us triage quickly and identify obvious abuse or shipping damage.
5. What we’ll do after we receive your submission
-
Review the photos/videos and proof of purchase. If clearly abusive or outside policy, we’ll explain the refusal and attach evidence.
-
If the submission looks valid, we’ll issue a prepaid RMA label and instructions for packing and insurance.
-
On receipt we run the bench triage (visual inspection → minimal POST test with known-good parts → cross-swap → continuity checks) and produce a diagnostic log with photos. If approved, we replace/repair/refund per policy. If denied, we provide photos, the diagnostic log, and repair/replace cost options.
-
6. Additional policies
-
DOA reporting window
Report Dead-On-Arrival (DOA) issues to Uncapped PC within 7 calendar days of delivery. To be eligible for DOA handling, you must submit the required evidence (photos, short bench video, proof of purchase, and checklist) within that window. Reports made after this window will be handled under the regular warranty RMA process. -
Initial diagnosis & escalation
-
Initial bench diagnosis (3–5 business days): After we receive the unit, our bench tech will perform an initial visual inspection and a minimal POST test using known-good components. This initial check aims to quickly identify clear DOA or obvious user damage.
-
Escalation to Technical Team: If the initial test is inconclusive or indicates a deeper fault, the unit will be escalated to our Technical Team for a more detailed analysis and cross-swap isolation testing.
-
Final determination: The Technical Team issues the final diagnosis and warranty decision (approve/repair/deny) after reviewing the full diagnostic results.
-
Turnaround SLA (what to expect)
We aim to complete the full RMA cycle within 5–14 business days from the date we receive the unit. Typical timeline checkpoints we’ll communicate: Received → Initial Diagnosis (3–5 business days) → Escalation (if needed) → Final Decision. Complex cases, parts sourcing, or high volumes may extend this timeframe; we will keep you updated. -
Shipping & insurance requirements
All shipping costs for sending the product to Uncapped PC for warranty inspection are the buyer’s responsibility. We strongly recommend using tracked and insured shipping and following our packing instructions to avoid transit damage. If shipping damage is suspected, provide photos of the external packaging and any loose parts on arrival. -
Serial number & tamper checks
We verify the product serial number and warranty stickers against order records. Products with removed, altered, or mismatched serial numbers/warranty stickers may be denied warranty coverage. If tampering is evident, we will document it, share photos, and offer paid repair or replacement options. -
No-defect-found (NDF) / diagnostic fees
If a returned unit passes our tests and shows no reproducible fault on our bench, we reserve the right to charge a diagnostic (NDF) fee and to require buyer payment for return shipping. -
Refurbished / used / promotional items
Refurbished, used, or promotional items may have different or reduced warranty coverage.
